Where Is This?

This sign is posted on a piece of town property; do you know where it is?

Walley: I waited just to see if anyone is hiking, but more importantly observing what is on the trails?

It is a section of an "adopt a trail " program of the Cons Comm located on the Stafford Turnpike trail Heins Farm.

Residents can apply to Cons Comm to "adopt" a section of trail performing "light maintenance" duties and reporting other items which may need attention on the trail. I believe this is the only section adopted on Heins Farm, and there are sections adopted on LMT, 2 sections of the Arbutus Park trail, one by the Hoy Family and the other by the Sturbridge Lion's club.

    Leslie Wong: email: lwong@town.sturbridge.ma.us
    Has application forms and details.

  2. Thanks, Tom. Yes it is on the Worcester - Stafford Turnpike on the old Heins Farm land. As you know, this section of the original trail is the longest continuos remaining section of the turnpike. Thank you for the information about the adopt a trail program. There are many "surprises" on the trails like the sign in the photo, and they are all waiting to be discovered.
